To continue extending the healing ministry of Christ, HKAH strives to improve the quality of its clinical services. Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road (HKAH – SR) and Tsuen Wan (HKAH – TW) have received accreditation from the leading accrediting body, Joint Commission International (JCI), for the third time. This recognition was received in 2006, 2020, and 2023, respectively. As a result, they are the only hospitals in Hong Kong to have received this prestigious recognition. Both hospitals also earned The Gold Seal of Approval for the second time(2020 and 2023). As testament to the continuous improvement of our medical services over the years, proving that our service and patient safety standards comply with international standards.

Next, since 2000, we have been fully accredited 6 times by the Trent Accreditation Board (United Kingdom) (2000 - 2010).

Between 2010 - 2020, HKAH was accredited 3 times by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS).

Additionally, in recognition of our health promotion efforts within the local community, HKAH received the International Network of Health Promoting Hospitals (HPH)’s certification in May 2012 - the first to do so in Hong Kong and Macau. This HPH network, initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO), advocates healthy living and assists medical institutions around the world in raising awareness of this concept through strategic health promotion efforts.

Moreover, our clinical laboratory was accredited by the Hong Kong Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) in December 2009. This is the first internationally recognized accreditation that has been awarded to a private hospital laboratory in Hong Kong. It highlights our laboratory’s commitment to improving the quality of its services, and their credibility in producing accurate and reliable diagnostic information to our patients and doctors.

Further, our Food and Dietetic Department has obtained the ISO22000 certification for Food Safety Management Systems in 2013, the first private hospital in Hong Kong to be awarded as such. ISO22000 is the most authoritative international standard as it encompasses two leading international food safety standards, the Codex Alimentarius International Food Standards, and the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). Besides, in 2017, our Central Sterilization and Reprocessing Unit (CSRU) achieved ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO 13485 Quality Management on Medical Device and ISO 14971 Risk Management on Medical Device. These outstanding achievements certifies that our medical system and risk management meets internationally recognized standards, and affirms the quality of care provided to our patients.
