B.E.T. Pilates exercise rehabilitation approach built
upon the "Pilates" method by incorporating
theoretical and practical principles of rehabilitation
science. In our Center in the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital,
B.E.T. Pilates exercises are only given by qualified
physical therapists experienced in B.E.T. Pilates.
Many injuries are a result of muscle, movement or postural
imbalances which lead to altered biomechanical stress
across joints and soft tissue contributing to degenerative
changes and musculoskeletal pain. B.E.T. Pilates training
focuses on spinal and pelvic stabilization, spinal alignment
and balanced, co-coordinated movements. The focus is
on the analysis and treatment of postural and muscle
imbalances associated with musculoskeletal pain syndromes.
B.E.T. Pilates is particularly effective in the rehabilitation
and prevention of recurrent or chronic problems. Patients
with the following conditions may benefit from B.E.T.
Pilates:
Postural asymmetries, scoliosis, kyphosis
Muscle imbalances resulting in inefficient
movement patterns
