Coronary Heart DiseaseˇXthe Silent Killer
Heart disease accounts for more than 15% of all deaths
in Hong Kong. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most
common type of heart disease, and is the top killing
disease after cancer. Most people with CAD are not aware
of the condition. When symptoms occur it is often too
late: 40 percent of cardiac deaths are sudden.
To prevent such tragedies from happening to you or
your beloved ones, the Hong Kong Heart Center is introducing
three cardiac screening programs to cater for different
needs. They are most relevant for people who have one
or more risk factors for heart disease.
