CT
Scans
CT (Computed Tomography) scan, also called computerized
axial tomography (CAT) scan, is a special machine that
directs a series of X-rays through the body that are
analyzed by a computer to produce a detailed picture
of a "slice" of an organ or area being studied.
Our CT Equipment enables a full range of neurological,
cardiovascular, abdominal, thoracic, and dental examinations
in a much shorter time. The GE VCT 64-slices CT Scanner
is currently one of the most advanced CT Scanner available
in town. It can reveal sub-millimeter detail with unmatched
speed, and can generate detailed 3D images for pre-surgical
planning and treatment evaluation. With sub-second scanning
capability, a Coronary CT could be completed in around
5 seconds producing the highest image quality.
linical applications of CT Scans include:
| Coronary CT |
 |
|
A Coronary CT is a screening exam that is non-invasive,
painless, and helps detect your risk of heart
disease.
Plaque is a buildup of fat and other substances,
including calcium, in the coronary arteries which
in time can narrow the arteries or even block
blood flow to the heart. The result may be angina
or a heart attack. Our ultrafast CT scanner can
obtain accurate information about the location
and extent of calcified plaques in the coronary
arteries.
Calcium is a marker of coronary artery disease.
The findings on a CT Heart Scan, expressed as
a calcium score, may provide information that
can help decide what measures can be taken to
avoid these events.
If you have two or more of the following risk
factors, then a CT Heart Scan may benefit you:

| CT ˇ§Virtual Colonoscopyˇ¨ |
 |
|
Virtual Colonoscopy is a recently developed technique
that uses a CT scanner and computer virtual reality
software to look inside the body without having
to insert a long tube (Conventional Colonoscopy)
into the colon or without having to fill the colon
with liquid barium (Barium Enema).

The CT scanner uses x rays and computers to produce
two- and three-dimensional images of bronchial
tree. The test is useful to investigate into the
cause of chronic cough, chest pain, coughing out
of blood or shortness of breath.
