The outpatient services at the Adventist Robotic Surgery Centre serve as a dedicated extension of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital's outpatient department, designed specifically for patients who wish to learn more about or undergo robotic or minimally invasive surgery (MIS). Our center brings together specialists across orthopedics, urology, general surgery, neurosurgery, and more — all rigorously trained, certified, and clinically credentialed in robotic-assisted procedures — to provide you with personalized assessments and tailored surgical planning.

From your first appointment to full recovery, our multidisciplinary team is with you every step of the way.

Step 2: Clinic Registration
Upon arrival, our reception team will guide you through the registration process to ensure a smooth and seamless experience.

Step 3: Specialist Consultation
Your specialist will conduct a thorough consultation to gain a comprehensive understanding of your condition, symptoms, and overall health.

Step 4: Personalized Treatment Planning
Your doctor will advise whether robotic surgery or MIS is suitable for you, and work with you to develop the most appropriate, individualized treatment plan.

Step 5: Pre-operative Preparation & Counselling (if surgery is confirmed)1
Clinical Investigations: Your doctor will arrange relevant pre-operative assessments, including blood tests, ECG, X-rays, or imaging studies based on your condition.
Anesthesia Assessment: An anesthesiologist will conduct a comprehensive evaluation, review your pre-operative medications, and walk you through an aesthetic options and associated risks.
Pre-operative Physiotherapy Assessment: A physiotherapist will assess your baseline mobility, muscle strength, and cardiopulmonary function, and guide you through a prehabilitation program — including breathing exercises and early mobilization techniques — to support faster recovery and reduce post-operative complications.
Nursing Guidance: Our nursing team will explain the surgical procedure in detail, provide pre-operative fasting instructions, and outline what to expect on the day of surgery, so you can proceed with confidence and peace of mind.

Step 6: Post-operative Follow-up & Recovery Monitoring
After surgery, your doctor will schedule regular follow-up appointments to closely monitor your recovery progress and support your return to everyday life.

Using advanced imaging technology, diagnoses are performed, followed by comprehensive preoperative evaluations conducted by specialist doctors to understand your physical condition.
Preoperative assessments include:
Nurse explanation and basic physical examination
Blood test
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Chest X-ray
Knee or hip joint imaging and preoperative planning
Helping patients understand the surgical process and related preparations.
Anesthesiologist’s Evaluation
Review and adjust preoperative medication arrangements as needed
Discuss anesthesia methods and surgical procedures with the patient
Assess overall anesthesia and surgical risks

Physiotherapist’s Preoperative Assessment and Guidance
