Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Achieves 4th JCI Accreditation & 3rd Gold Seal of Approval

Safeguarding the health of you and your family has always been our steadfast mission. Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road and Tsuen Wan under Adventist Health Hong Kong successfully obtained international accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI) for the fourth time in August this year, and received the “Gold Seal of Approval” for the third time!

What is JCI?
JCI is the world’s largest healthcare accreditation body. Its U.S. parent organization, The Joint Commission (TJC), awards the same Gold Seal to world-renowned institutions such as Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins Hospital.

How rigorous is JCI accreditation?
The evaluation covers over 1,000 assessment criteria, with an overall compliance rate of over 90% required to earn the Gold Seal. An international survey team conducted an intensive 8-day on-site review across both hospitals, covering:
✅Patient Assessment & Care
✅Anaesthesia & Surgical Care
✅Medication Management
✅Infection Prevention & Control
✅Facility Management & Safety
✅Emergency Preparedness
✅Staff Qualifications & Competency

The surveyors highly commended both hospitals for their outstanding performance in leadership, multidisciplinary teamwork, evidence-based clinical practices, cross-departmental collaboration, and a strong safety culture. This accreditation is not just a recognition of our staff’s quiet dedication across every department—it represents our fundamental responsibility to every single patient.

Hong Kong Adventist Hospital to hold this dual honor– a testament that our standards are on par with the world’s top medical institutions. Healthcare is about more than clinical expertise—we will continue to apply this same rigor and heart to safeguarding the health of our community.
