Package for Referrals from Public Hospitals: Laparoscopic Groin Hernia Repair Surgery

Hernia is a common condition in town, and anyone can be at risk. Minimally invasive surgery using a mesh patch offers several advantages: the wounds are smaller, pain is reduced, and the procedure typically takes as little as one hour. The recovery process is quicker, with lower chances of recurrence and nerve damage compared to open surgery. This allows patients to quickly return to their normal lives, making it a preferred option for many.

Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road is now introducing a public hospital referral surgery package for treating hernia using advanced minimally invasive techniques. 

Managed by Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road designated specialists. Only applicable to day cases.

Charges Include:

• Pre- and post-procedure consultation fees* (one of each), procedure fee* and in-patient care fee*, anesthetist's fee*, operating room services fee, basic sedatives and medication, postoperative medication and daytime accommodation.

*This package is only applicable for hospital designated surgeon and anesthetist.

Charges Exclude:

• Emergency services beyond the routine procedure, blood test, X-ray examination, electrocardiogram examination, laboratory fee, meals, additional medication and consumables.

Remarks:

1. This package is only applicable to patients who have been referred from public hospitals. Please present your Hospital Authority (HA) referral letter at your consultation.
2. Patients are required to receive an official diagnosis by a surgeon designated by Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road to confirm they are suitable for day case surgery. The consultation fee is HK$500 (special price). Should patients elect to undergo surgery at HKAH-SR, the full consultation fee will be deducted from the package fee. The deductable consultation fee is only applicable to surgeries booked within one month of the initial consultation. If laparoscopic groin hernia repair surgery is not required following diagnosis, the consultation fee will not be refunded.
3. Patients are required to provide their medical records as supplied by the Hospital Authority, or the personal identification number (PIN) that will allow Hong Kong Adventist Hospital - Stubbs Road doctors to access their information. 4. The above package only applies to day cases and Short Stay Unit (Standard).
5. Extra charges may be incurred if complications arise during the procedure, requiring additional treatment or use of medical supplies that are not included in the package. For details, please contact our staff.
6. Package fee includes ONE post-procedure consultation, but does not include medication, additional treatment, or use of additional medical supplies (if needed) prescribed during the consultation.
7. Hong Kong Adventist Hospital - Stubbs Road reserves the right to update the fee schedule, brochure, terms and conditions. Any change of fee schedule will be announced and notices will be published in advance, in accordance with the statutory notice period. Any other changes except the fee schedule may be made at any time as it sees fit without prior notice, you are advised to check the latest information before using our services.
