In late 1960s, Dr. Harry Miller and two church
missionaries, Pastor Ezra Longway and Pastor
Robert Milne, encouraged the Seventh-day Adventist Development
Board to utilize the current location to build a hospital. With
this noble idea, our founders tirelessly sought generous donations
for the project. Dr. Chan Shun, the founder and former Chair and
Managing Director of Crocodile Garments Limited, gave the first
million dollars. A large number of generous companies and individuals
then contributed millions more to erect the present two structures
on the Hospital campus.
Hong Kong Adventist Hospital provides a great
variety of medical services to meet various healthcare needs of
patients. Currently, we have 108 beds. We are a well-established,
not-for-profit private hospital that does not request Government
subsidy, nor aid from the Community Chest. All revenues come from
the provision of patient services. Revenues in excess of expenses
are re-invested into the Hospital to update equipment and facilities,
or to expand new services.
